Welcome to the 24^th Conference of the European Colloid and Interface Society

Dear colleagues,

we are pleased by your interest in the ECIS 2010 Meeting in Prague. At present, more than 600 participants (including invited speakers, honorary ECIS members and guests) from 52 countries have registered for the conference. Most participants are from Europe, but we also have attendees from the USA, Canada, Brazil, Singapore, India, China, South Korea, Japan, Australia and New Zealand. The highest numbers of people come from Germany (135), France (69), Japan (45), Poland (43), United Kingdom (41), Spain (40), Czech Republic (33), Sweden (30) and Switzerland (24).

We do believe that the meeting will give you an opportunity learn new things, meet experts from other countries and discuss your scientific problems. We also hope that you will find some time to visit nice parts of Prague and wish you a pleasant time in the Czech Republic.

How to get to the conference

Praha has a cheap and reliable public transport, for connections and timetables see dpp.cz. A 90-minute transfer ticket costs 28 CZK (about 1 EUR). From the airport (see prg.aero) you can take a taxi (expensive and discouraged), the Airport Express (AE) bus (50 CZK) to the Masarykovo nadrazi stop and then about 400m on foot. Or you can take the bus number 119 to metro station Dejvicka or number 100 to Zlicin. Then you continue to Florenc station and then about 200m on foot. All these places, as well as others and some pubs worth recommending, are on this map (updated).
